Public events in the School of Art and Design/Performing Arts Division are scheduled throughout the next week, beginning Friday, Nov. 12. All events are free and open to the public.

Merry Wives of Windsor PosterMerry Wives of Windsor: The 90-minute version of the classic Shakespeare comedy combines creative elements and inspiration from the contemporary and modern world as well as the classical world. The production, directed by Eliza Beckwith, visiting professor of theater at Alfred University, promise a great time for the entire family, and are free. For reservations, please visit this link.

Wednesday Artist Speaker Series AU connectNovember 16, 7pm Nevins Theater. Wednesday Arts Speaker Series : Matthew Leifheit (born 1988, Chicago, IL) is an American photographer, magazine-editor, publisher, and professor based in Brooklyn, NY. He is Editor-in-Chief of MATTE Magazine, a platform for new ideas in photography founded by Leifheit in 2010.

  • The Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is hosting the 18th Perkins Lecture at 4:30pm in Nevins Theater with award-winning arts writer, scholar, and lecturer Ed LEbow ('76)  
  • Holiday sale in the Harder Hall lobby to take place for the duration of the evening.
  • Cohen Gallery and the Shop at the Cohen: Idyl Currents: Jonathan Faber (BFA '94)
  • Fosdick-Nelson Gallery: Division of Ceramic Art
  • Robert C. Turner Gallery: Student Run- Student Envisioned
  • The Confucius Institute will host a lecture: Musical Map of China: An Evening of Music Adventure with Producer Yunchuan Ye in Holmes Auditorium at 5:30pm
  • The IDEA Lab, located on the 2nd floor of Harder Hall hosts an artist talk at 6pm Disruption, Colorized, with the artists featured in the exhibition of the same name.
