Slinko- Institute for Electronic Arts Resident Artist

Artist-in-Residence April 24 - May 5. Born in Ukraine, Slinko is a multidisciplinary artist living in the US. While her practice is informed by scholarship on labor, agency, and ideology, her inspiration comes from interactions with ordinary people, localized contexts, and material culture.

Slinko often focuses on the anecdotal within larger historic events and political narratives to reflect on the effects and workings of power on society and individuals.

Slinko earned her MFA in Sculpture and Extended Media from VCU in Richmond, VA, and has been awarded the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship. She has been an artist resident at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Henry Street Settlement, The Drawing Center, Bemis Center For Contemporary Arts, and Santa Fe Art Institute among others.

The Experimental Projects Residency Programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and the Schein-Joseph Endowment.
