Assistant Professor of Photography Kelsey Sucena to give talk on Fire Island

Assistant Professor of Photograph Kelsey Sucena has been invited to participate in Trans Celebration Weekend in Cherry Grove on Fire Island later this month


As part of Cherry Groves first "Trans Celebration Weekend" artist and educator Kelsey Sucena has been invited to give a talk on the Queer ecologies of Fire Island. The talk and walk will be conducted in the historic queer enclave of Cherry Grove on Saturday, September 15th, 2023 at 5pm.

About the event: "One weekend. Many voices. One mission. To celebrate the transgender and non-binary community. The Grove has been a safehaven for LGBTQIA+ people since the early 1900’s. Throughout the weekend there will be events at The Ice Palace, The Belvedere, Cherry’s on the Bay, Floyd’s and the Cherry Grove Community House, which is the longest running LGBTQIA+ theater in the United States."
