Miller Performing Arts Center Monday-Friday: 7 am-11 pm, Saturday-Sunday: 7 am-10 pm

MIDTERM BREAK - NO CLASSES OCTOBER 16-17

ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN OCTOBER 14-17 NEW YORK STATE COLLEGE OF CERAMICS BUILDINGS WILL BE CLOSED FROM 9PM FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13 THROUGH TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17.  Harder Hall, Binns-Merill Hall, McMahon, Hall of Glass, Scholes Library and NYSCC support service buildings and shops will be closed for an electrical shutdown. See email from Communications enews on Friday October 6 for details.

MILLER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14


Wednesday, October 18, 6pm Nevins Theater Conscious Communication within the LGBTQ Plus Community with Kiki Wilson. Words and their definitions are forever changing and over time this causes the way we speak/communicate with one another to change. This also causes a new level of awareness, in which we have to be sensitive to the words, phrases, and sentences that we use since they can be triggering to those around us.
During her talk, Kiki will:
1. Define the terminology used by LGBTQ+ community.
2. Help us gain awareness, sensitivity, and knowledge of LGBTQ+ community.
3. Share effective communication skills that will positively improve and impact relationships.

OPEN CALL FOR EXHIBITION PROPOSALS DUE OCTOBER 31.

Robert C. Turner Gallery. Open call for exhibition proposals by Alfred University students in the Turner student gallery next semester, spring 2024.


Call for Mural Design
Seeking people to design and paint a mural on AU student created tiny house - $400 award to winner. The tiny house was created and built by AU students pre-covid, and has just recently been picked back up again. Solar panels were recently installed, and the tiny house will be featured in the National Solar Tour held by the American Solar Energy Society. All material for the mural will be included. Submissions for designs are due October 27, and the mural will need to be completed by January of 2024. All students welcome to submit! Contact Dr. Xingwu Wang fwangx@alfred.edu  for questions and design submissions


FESTIFALL VENDOR REGISTRATION FestiFall will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 12-6 PM with vendor set up starting at 11 AM. The event will be at the Village Bandstand and on the lawn next to The Brick residence hall on AU Campus, with a rain location of the Joyce and Walton Family Center. The event will include food trucks, craft vendors, games, live music, and other fall-themed events, with fireworks in the evening to cap off the day! We do not provide tables, chairs, or electricity to outside vendors. REGISTER AS A VENDOR
