More than 30 Alfred University alumni will return to campus for the university’s third annual Mentorship Day on Friday, Sept. 25. Alumni will take part in a variety of workshops, sharing their stories of professional achievement and the role mentors play in their career success, and connect with students at an end-of-day networking session.

Mentorship Day gives students the opportunity to learn from and engage with alumni and professionals who are leaders in their fields. It is a day of meaningful conversations, career exploration, and connections that can shape students’ futures.
“Mentorship Day reflects the strength of the Alfred University community. By bringing together every corner of the university and our accomplished alumni, we create valuable opportunities for students to build relationships, explore career paths, and gain real-world perspectives,” said Diana Maguire, professor of management and leadership in Alfred University’s College of Business and a leading Mentorship Day organizer. “We are incredibly thankful for our alumni who generously invest their time and talents in supporting our students’ success.”
The 2026 event welcomes alumni and professionals to campus as Alfred University kicks off Homecoming and Family Weekend. The following alumni are set to take part in as visiting mentors:
- Shaminda Amarakoon ’04, Professor in the Practice at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, where he serves as Chair of the Technical Design Production Program and Director of Production of Yale Repertory Theatre.
- Seann M. G. Bishop ’01, Technical Manager and Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.
- Enid Borden is the President and CEO of the National Foundation to End Senior Hunger.
- Anastasia Mulan Campbell ’20, MBA ’22, of AMC Global Consulting LLC, which partners with organizations across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to design and implement programs that strengthen leadership, build organizational capacity, and create lasting community impact.
- Isabella Carrillo ’23, Community Outreach Coordinator forIndiana Sports Corp, where she assists community and fan engagement programs that use sports to create lasting community impact.
- Amis Crawford ’10, senior glassblower at Fine Arts Lamps, a maker of handcrafted lighting in Hialeah, FL, and former glass studio technician in the Sculpture Department of Alfred University’s School of Art and Design.
- Joe Copp ’24, ’25 MBA, recruiter specializing in construction management for Actalent, a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talentsolutions in Raleigh, NC.
- Jodi DeRico ’07, Marketing & Community Engagement Specialist for the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Megan L. Falsetta ’04, Associate Professor at the University of Rochester with a joint appointment in OB/GYN and Pharmacology and Physiology. She serves as the Associate Director for OB/GYN Research Labs.
- Brian Gable ’17, MBA ’18, New York State Police Trooper based out of Bath/Hornell, NY.
- Krystina Gauer ’21, MBA ’22, marketing strategist with Public Partnership, leading service provider for self-directed care programs, and founder of Hongo Skin, a handcrafted, all-natural skincare brand.
- Olivia Gilbert ’24, Process Engineer in the Laser Grade Optics division at Optimax Systems Inc. in Ontario, NY. Optimax is the largest precision optics manufacturing facility in the U.S. providing optical solutions for Aerospace, Semiconductor, Medical, and Military applications.
- Eliott Houghtelling ’23, MBA ’25, Manager of Development for the Alzheimer's Association in Elmira, NY, and former Social Media Manager at Alfred University.
- Megan Hubbard ’08, CPA and Partner in the tax department of the regional public accounting firm Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co. LLP.
- Megan Jones ’21, M.A. ’24, Mental Health Counselor at the University of Idaho, where she is spearheading the university’s first dedicated athletic mental health counseling role in collaboration between Athletics and Counseling Services.
- Nick Kliatsko ’11, Head of Core Engineering at Novartis Biomedical Research in Cambridge, MA.
- Jeff Klossner ’19, owner, RCI General Contracting, a diversified company with divisions specializing in general contracting, tree services, accessibility and mobility solutions; and owner of Hop Notch Brewing Co. in Montour Falls, NY.
- Natalie Krauser ‘’98, Executive Director, AIChE Foundation, a global foundation affiliated with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. She is also a Certified Fundraising Executive and President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals.
- Mike LaCroix ’97, Therapeutic Specialist with Insmed Corp., working in the rare disease space focused on chronic lung disorders. As a medical sales professional, he works closely with physicians, their staff, and the healthcare systems in which they practice.
- Marilú Marcillo ’90, Dean of the School of Business and Information Sciences at Felician University in New Jersey.
- Terel Marshburn ’15, MBA ’18, Economic Development Director at Otsego Now in Oneonta, NY; former Chemung County program manager at IncubatorWorks, in Elmira, NY.
- Peter McClain ’00, Director of Accounting & Controls at Alfred State College, where he oversees financial operations supporting advancement, philanthropy, and external funding initiatives.
- John Mulryan ’92, M.S. ’99, General Manager of Siemens Energy Painted Post Operations and Site Lead for the company's Olean facility.
- Jennifer Nestor Ko ’96, Senior Vice President at Bank of America, where she serves as Program Management Executive within Global Strategy and Enterprise Platforms.
- Susan Rozak ’86, M.S. ’88, Sales Manager, Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories. She has been at Saint-Gobain for more than 30 years, working in Applications, Marketing, Product Management, and Manufacturing Engineering. She is president of the Alfred University Alumni Council.
- Anthony Ruffino ’22, MBA ’23, Corporate Ticket Sales Manager with Pacers Sports & Entertainment in Indianapolis, IN.
- Patricia St. George ’89, Partner at KPMG LLP with more than 29 years of experience advising high-profile clients across the commercial, healthcare, higher education, and federal sectors. She is a member of the Alfred University Board of Trustees.
- Luci Tabacjar ’20, fabricator at the Glimmerglass Festival, Otsego Couty, NY, building large and complex scenery for the opera company’s seasonal performances.
- Sarah Taylor ’16, M.A./CAS ’19, Elementary Principal at Genesee Valley Central School District, Belmont, NY. She has been at Genesee Valley since 2023, when she was appointed Director of Special Education; she was named Elementary Principal in 2025.
- Matt Wedzik ’23, MBA ’25, Founder of Early Bird Energy, a drive-thru energy drink company based in Erie, PA.
- Antonio Williams ’06, Director of the David T. Kearns Center for Leadership and Student Success at the University of Rochester and Director of Graduate Diversity Initiatives.
