ALFRED, NY – Two administrators in Alfred University’s Division of Student Affairs have been chosen for leadership roles in their respective professional organizations’ upcoming conferences.
Amanda Baker, director of the Robert R. McComsey Career Development Center, has been named chair for next year’s Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA) conference, scheduled for December 2019 in Lancaster, PA. Tricia Debertolis, associate dean of students, will chair the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) Region II Conference in 2020, set to be held in Buffalo.
“Chairing an organization’s conference is a major stepping stone for professional organization advancement, and it’s a significant responsibility and acknowledgement of their credibility within the profession,” commented Kathy Woughter, vice president of Student Affairs at Alfred University. “I am very proud of Amanda and Tricia for representing Alfred University so well.”
MACCA provides a specialized, supportive and diverse organization where career professionals in the Middle Atlantic States can enhance the quality of their skills while networking and collaborating with others in the field.
NASPA is the leading association for the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession. Alfred University alumnus Michael Christakis ’99 (B.A., history and political science), vice president of Student Affairs at the University at Albany, is NASPA Region II director.
