ALFRED, NY -- Jennifer Lory-Moran, advisor of the Chimes Program at Cornell University, will perform on Alfred University’s Davis Memorial Carillon on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m.

The recital will include numerous well-known works for the whole family – classical pieces and carillon originals, including arrangements written specifically for the Alfred carillon. The concert is being held as part of Homecoming Weekend at Alfred University.

Lory-Moran has played the 21-bell chime at Cornell since 1993.  In 2012, she started taking carillon lessons at Alfred University with Laurel Buckwalter, carilloneur emerita, but the long commute made it difficult to practice very often. Now she is a “distance learner” enrolled in the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium, studying over Skype with renowned carilloneur Koen Van Assche using a carillon practice keyboard in her living room.

Her arrangement of "Pure Imagination" won first place in the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs arranging contest of "Music for an Elegant Occasion" in 2016.
