Alfred University alumna to Kat Wright ’08 to perform with her soul band in Rochester

Alfred University alumna Katherine “Kat” Wright ’08 and her band will perform with her band on Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Rochester.


ROCHESTER, NY – Alfred University alumna Katherine “Kat” Wright ’08 and her band will perform with her band on Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Rochester.

Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band will open for the Wood Brothers at 8 p.m. at the Kodak Center, 200 W. Ridge Road, Rochester. Wright, a Rochester-area native who earned a Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts degree from Alfred University in 2008, has fronted Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band, an eight piece soul/rock group, for nine years.

Wright and two members of her band – guitarist Bob Wagner and bassist Josh Weinstein – are in the midst of a tour with the Wood Brothers, supporting the latter’s recently-released “Kingdom in My Mind” album. The tour started Jan. 29 in Baltimore, MD, and will conclude Feb. 14 in Nashville, TN. In between are stops in Wright’s original hometown of Rochester on Feb. 5 and in her current hometown of Burlington, VT, the following evening.
