Fiat Lux unveils Fall semester’s first issue in new digital format

Fiat Lux, Alfred University’s student newspaper, recently published its first issue of the Fall 2020 semester. The paper, which is published every Monday, is available for the first time in digital format.


Fiat Lux, Alfred University’s student newspaper, recently published its first issue of the Fall 2020 semester. The paper, which is published every Monday, is available for the first time in digital format.

Fiat Lux Editor-in-chief Talulla Torthe, a junior communication studies major from Pretoria, South Africa, said that when the COVID-19 pandemic first hit, the paper’s near future “didn’t look too bright.” The newspaper’s staff were displaced from their traditional work place and had no online platform with which to publish the paper.

“After some brainstorming, we realized that this was the perfect opportunity we were waiting for in order to finally build our digital presence,” Torthe remarked.
