WXXI, Rochester’s public radio station, on Monday, Dec. 28 will air the 2019 MostArts Festival’s Opening Gala Concert featuring 14 year old, Christopher Zandieh playing Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor, with the MostArts Festival Orchestra.


ROCHESTER, NY – WXXI, Rochester’s public radio station, on Monday, Dec. 28 will air the 2019 MostArts Festival’s Opening Gala Concert featuring 14 year old, Christopher Zandieh playing Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor, with the MostArts Festival Orchestra.

 The performance will be aired at 8 pm, streaming on www.wxxiclassical.org and on 91.5 FM and 90.3 FM for Western New York listening audiences.

 Zandieh’s 2019 performance with the MostArts Festival Orchestra was his second appearance at Alfred University. In 2018, he won the MostArts Young Pianists Competition, earning the privilege to return to Alfred in 2019 and perform on the stage of the Miller Theater with the MostArts Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Yuval Zaliouk.

 Zandieh, of Long Island, NY was 13 years old when he won the 2018 Young Pianists Competition. He continues to study classical piano at the Julliard School and is a student at Syosset High School, on Long Island, where he is also the principal alto saxophonist in the high school jazz band. 

 He also performs regularly with the Zandieh Trio, composed of himself and his brothers, Cameron and Charles.
