The Social Justice Billboard Project was initiated in the aftermath of  Floyd’s death May 25, 2020, and inspired by Peyton Scott Russell's "Icon of a Revolution" mural placed at Mr. Floyd's memorial site in the days following his death. There are three billboards with new artwork installed every three months resulting in 12 artists and artworks a year.
