The Workshop
Explore the elemental beauty of wood firing in this two-week intensive led by master potter Jack Troy. Participants will fire in two distinct wood kilns, learning through hands-on practice, demonstrations, and discussions of firing history and aesthetics. The workshop begins with forming and glazing sessions, followed by the loading and firing of both train and cross-draft kilns. Expect to dive deep into shino glazes, natural ash surfaces, and the alchemy of flame. Prior experience with clay forming is recommended; curiosity and stamina are essential.
