Biography

Never one to do things quite the ‘normal’ way, Randy has spent everyday of life trying to experience as much as possible in the hopes of gaining the wisdom and insight to understand the what and why of it all. After earning his BFA in Theatre from Arkansas State University he pursued his dream of being an original musician; recording, playing and doing regional tours.  Years in Memphis, TN were followed by years in Austin, TX.   All the while free-lancing in theatres and performing spaces of all shape and size. His adventures have taken him from second and third shift factory work to the corporate management ladder of a Fortune 100 company. Yet always his love of the stage remained a constant. He has founded and closed theatre companies where he acted, directed, designed, built and often cursed people & playwrights (in a loving way). He approaches everyday has a gift with something to offer. The past decade he earned his master’s degree in theatre from Texas A&M Commerce, while also teaching and managing a fifteen hundred seat performing arts space that regularly showcases student productions of all types from over twenty-five campuses. The venue also serves as home to the local symphony orchestra as well as a rental house to national tours featuring everything from comedian Cedric The Entertainer to musical acts like Kansas and Aaron Neville…and everything in between. A typical month of programming alone could include twenty different productions.  He is founding member of the Here Be Monsters (monsterhere.org) Theatre troupe, which writes and produces all of their own material and stages their productions in various locales within the community. An artist at heart and a manager by trade, Randy simply loves life and the beauty that is within and around all of us.
