Melinda Odle

Melinda OdleViolist Melinda Odle joined the Louisville Orchestra in 1986 after having completed post - baccalaureate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her concert appearances there included performances with John Adams and the New Music Ensemble and Laurette Goldberg with the Baroque Ensemble. Early studies included a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Evansville where she studied with Delmar Pettys. Other significant teachers include Isadore Tinkleman at the San Francisco Conservatory and Abraham Skernick at Indiana University. In 1991, Ms. Odle won the position of Assistant Principal Viola with the Louisville Orchestra and was a founding member of the Crescent String Quartet.

A native of Louisville, Ms. Odle has participated in a wide variety of music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, Colorado Philharmonic, and the Orquestra Sinfonia de Mineria in Mexico City, as well as educational workshops in Milwaukee and Kingston, Jamaica. Currently, she is living in West Lafayette, Indiana, performing throughout central and northwest Indiana.
