Informal Dance Showing

The Alfred University Performing Arts Division and Dance Department presents the Informal Dance showing, featuring AU student choreography and dance talents, on stage in the CD Smith III blackbox theatre, in the Miller Performing Arts Building. There are two shows, Nov 30 & Dec 1, curtain at 6pm. This is a free event and no tickets are required. Enjoy a performance that fosters creative research, inquiry and imagination through the art of dance and dance making.

Come see what Alfred University students have been working on in the AU Dance Program this semester! Over two nights, the End of Semester showing is an informal performance of the learning and growth in Alfred University’s dance program. Each night will have a different line up of works that include student performances from Anthony, Law & Wahl’s dance courses: Composition 1, Fundamentals of Dance, Modern 1, African Dance, and independent choreographers. Come support students of all levels and skill as they show their learning this semester and experience the challenge and excitement of performing live dance. Alfred University's Dance program is composition based and designed to develop artistry in dance making, performance and site-specific performance. The program is open to students of all levels regardless of experience or past training and promotes excellence in dance, as well as encourages cross-disciplinary work.
