Alfred University Music Department Orchestra Concert
The Alfred University Performing Arts Division and Music Department and the AU Symphony Orchestra present a Fall 2023 Concert featuring soloist Monica Nowik. The concert is Nov 17 at 7:30pm in the Miller Theater. "Monica Nowik is a senior English major minoring in film studies and philosophy. She studied flute for twelve years with Diana Charos Reilly in New Jersey, where she also played with the New Jersey Youth Symphony and, in high school, the New Jersey All State Orchestra. She furthered her flute studies with instructor Rachel Decker at Alfred University from 2021 to 2023. This is Monica's second time soloing with the Alfred University Orchestra. Monica is currently working on a short film which is a modernized take on Beowulf. She will finish her English degree with a January term at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Post graduation, Monica will pursue a career in the film industry writing and directing."
