7/13 Documentation and Eco Printing Workshops
Alfred Summer Arts 2024 features arts workshops in a variety of media areas designed for participants working at all levels: artists, teachers, community members and visiting professionals. High school institutes and courses for credit are also offered.Photo Documentation 101 with Heather Davis
Students will learn how to properly light their work, how to use a background, and how to successfully edit and color correct their work in Photoshop and for those who do not have Photoshop, Microsoft Photo Editor. First half of workshop will be focused on set up, second half of workshop will be on photo editing.
All levels; beginners encouraged.

Eco Printing on Fabrics or Paper with Deb MacCrea
Using freshly picked plant material from the instructor’s gardens and foraged local flora, lovely contact prints will bloom onto paper and fabric through steaming and the predictable interaction of plant tannins and an iron solution, to create one-of-a-kind botanical prints with a beauty only nature provides!
All materials provided. Each student will leave with several finished prints on quality watercolor paper and cotton, silk or linen fabrics
