Transportation

• Air

The airports nearest the University are the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC), the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), and the Elmira Corning Regional Airport (ELM). Car rental services are available at all three locations for travel to Alfred.

• Bus or Train

  • Hornell Area Transit (HAT) provides public transportation for residents of the city and surrounding areas, including the towns of Alfred, Almond, Bath, Canaseraga, Canisteo, Cohocton, Dansville, and Wayland. Students with IDs ride free from Alfred to the Walmart/Wegmans Plaza in Hornell. See schedules and fares >>>
  • Bus service to Alfred is available through Shortline - 800.631.8405 or Trailways - 800.858.8555. Bus service between New York City and Alfred is available three times a day. See schedule.
  • Train service to Rochester or Buffalo is provided by Amtrak - 800.872.7245.
