Student activities director to spearhead creation of Rochester non-violence program

Dan Napolitano, Alfred University’s director of student activities, has been granted a 2016 leave of absence to further develop the institution’s award-winning, non-violence program known as the Art Force Five. The program seeks to place five college students directly in the heart of Rochester, NY, serving the city by leading community-based art projects.

Napolitano says this latest effort was inspired by the citizens of Ferguson, MO and the many other cities where legitimate frustrations have turned violent. He hopes to create a response team that could channel such energy in a timely and impactful manner.
