Students go to Turkish coast for non-traditional summer school experience

Students using summer break to take a course or two or to spend time at the shore is nothing new, but for a group of five Alfred University (AU) undergraduates and their professor, the classic summer pursuits took an uncommon turn this year. They spent four weeks in the Black Sea coast town of Sile (a suburb of Istanbul), Turkey.

Master's graduate receives sculptural achievement award

Michael H. Fleming of Medford, NJ, a 2014 graduate from Alfred University’s (AU) master of fine arts in sculpture/dimensional studies program, has been awarded the International Sculpture Center’s (ISC) Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award.

Carillon bell ringing, recital to mark worldwide Universal Peace Day events

On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Alfred University (AU) Carillonneur Laurel Buckwalter will join the bells of the Davis Memorial Carillon on campus to bells around the world to Ring Bells for Peace & A World Without War on Universal Peace Day, a program of the NYC Peace Museum.

Third performance of summer carillon series at Alfred University

Alfred University (AU) will host Laura Ellis, associate professor of music at the University of Florida, on Tuesday, July 22, the third performer in this year’s Wingate Memorial Summer Carillon Series.
