Emily Hart

emily hartEmily Hart is a Rochester-based oboist and educator. She is currently pursuing her DMA at the Eastman School of Music, where she studies with Richard Killmer. A native of the Midwest, she previously served as Assistant Professor of Oboe at Western Illinois University. She is currently the oboe instructor at the Eastman Community Music School, and in the summers, she teaches oboe at the Eastman Summer Classical Studies program and at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, MI. In addition to curating and performing solo recitals, she has held orchestral and chamber positions with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Knox-Galesburg Symphony, and Camerata Woodwind Quintet in Illinois, as well as solo and contemporary music engagements throughout the Midwest and now in Rochester, NY. Emily is honored to be a part of the musical community in Western New York, and when not playing or making reeds, can be found spending time with her partner and dog Stevie in one of Rochester’s many exceptional parks.
