On Saturday, March 27, in Holmes Auditorium, Alfred University will host the second annual TEDx event, a student-led and organized day of TEDx talks given by students, faculty, staff, community members and inspiring individuals. Organizers are currently accepting applications for people interested in speaking at the event.
TEDxAlfred University 2027 is themed “Uncharted Territory” and will explore “what happens when we venture beyond the familiar, push past boundaries, and step boldly into the unknown. True discovery begins with deep curiosity, resilience, and the courage to ask, ‘what if?’ These moments of exploration spark transformative innovation, challenge long-held perspectives, and redefine what is possible for people and communities alike,” said Vladyslava Makarenko, a sophomore finance major (business analytics and economics minor) and president of TEDx Alfred University.
“Our goal is to create a platform where thinkers, researchers, and innovators — from students and faculty and to experienced professionals — can step beyond the familiar, share new perspectives, and spark conversations that drive real impact in our community,” Makarenko said. “We know how much passion, creativity, and incredible work live here on campus.”
The application deadline for interested speakers is Oct. 14. To apply, please complete the TEDx Alfred University interested speaker form. The form is also accessible in the QR code contained in the image above. For more information, please visit the event’s Linktree site.
“Every TEDx talk simply needs a clear, well-focused core idea worth spreading,” Makarenko noted. “We invite applicant speakers to share the breakthroughs, ideas, and journeys that will inspire our audience to discover theirs!”
