Welcome to Alfred University

Information for Medaille University Students

We're aware of how difficult the last several months may have been for you. Our promise is to make your transition from Medaille to Alfred University a simple one, keeping you on-time to graduate with your chosen degree. And we'll be with you each step of the way.

Let's Get Started

First thing's first. It's critical that you let us know you're considering Alfred University as your teach-out school of choice for the Fall semester. The good news is that we've created a streamlined application/transfer process just for Medaille students like you.

Here's what you'll need to submit:

  • Completed application (application fees are automatically waived for Medaille students)
  • Official Medaille transcript, if applicable
  • Current Medaille financial aid award
  • Updated 2023-24 FAFSA (AU's School Code: 002668)

Once you've submitted your application/transfer request, a member of our dedicated Medaille admissions staff will reach out to you to answer any remaining questions and personally walk you through the rest of the process. Topics we'll cover with you will include:

  • a personal invitation to visit Alfred's beautiful campus
  • your educational and career goals
  • available programs of study
  • course equivalencies and earned credit hour acceptance
  • tuition matching from Medaille (you will not pay more in tuition to attend AU)
  • financial aid awards (net financial aid awards will be relatively matched to your Medaille 2022-23 award)
  • honoring residency requirements, housing and roommate preferences from Medaille

Have general questions about Alfred's teach-out agreement with Medaille, available programs, transfer credits or financial aid? Contact Kristen Vargason, Director of Admissions. Questions about living in Alfred, extracurriculars or athletics? Contact Amy DeKay, Vice President for Student Experience. They are your new primary contacts at Alfred University!

Are you a First Year student this Fall whose plans have unfortunately changed? We invite you to apply to Alfred University using the same abbreviated process as Medaille transfer students.
