This Spring, the School of Art & Design's Foundations Division has held the Theodore International Randall Chair and welcomed Simeen Farhat to Alfred. Please come and hear Simeen talk about her artistic practice.
Simeen Farhat is originally from Pakistan, and having also resided in London, Switzerland and Dubai, is currently located in Dallas, Texas. She is most known for her cast sculptural texts in resin that abstract language- both the poetic and the vernacular- into undulating forms that act of their own accord.

Farhat has had numerous solo and group exhibitions domestically as well as in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria. Her work was included in the 56th Venice Biennale.

Her works have been collected into public and private collections including the Dallas Records Building, Facebook, Parish School, the US Embassy in Islamabad, the US Consulate in Jeddah, Ammar Architecture Group, the Abu Dhabi Palace for the Crown Prince, Tudor Pickering Holt and Co., and the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai.
