Today, Keira is pursuing an MBA at Alfred University. Her parents always emphasized the importance of higher education, and she believed Alfred University's master's program would open new and exciting opportunities.
As a graduate student, she joined Alfred University's Institute for Experiential Entrepreneurship (IEE). The IEE gives students the chance to use the skills they picked up in the classroom in real-world situations. Through that opportunity, Keira worked with the Westchester Children’s Chorus to help the organization better understand its place in the market and grow its business.
“It’s a way for students to expand their skills and work in real-world situations.” Keira also assists Associate Professor of Analytics Jean Ellefson in her classes on analytics and entrepreneurship, giving support to undergrad students in the College of Business.
“I love sharing my knowledge with people that aren’t horse people,” says Keira.
Even though Keira’s grad program is centered around business, she still makes time to work at the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center. Keira became an adjunct professor and teaches Equestrian 101, where students learn the basics of horseback riding to start their degree in equestrian studies, explore their passion, or earn a physical education credit. As the class's adjunct professor, Keira sharpens her leadership skills as she watches her students learn and grow with their horses.
Alfred University allows students like Keira to pursue a wide range of studies at once to find their own unique career path. Whether it's marketing, equestrian studies, or something else entirely, Alfred has many options.
