Congratulations Class of 2022!
Congratulations to all of our graduates! The moment you have been working toward is finally here!
Commencement is a very special and important event in a student's life. It is also an occasion for families to share in their graduate's accomplishments. This year's ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 10 AM, in the Galanis Family Arena, McLane Center.
2022 Commencement Celebration
Alfred University's 2022 Commencement Celebration is Saturday, May 14th at 10:00am. This year, we're delighted to announce that world-renowned biomedical engineering researcher Dr. Robert Langer, co-founder of more than 40 biotechnology companies including COVID-19 vaccine maker Moderna, will be giving our commencement address.
We will be live streaming the ceremony in several spaces on campus, and overflow seating will be available for un-ticketed guests.
Guests are expected to follow all of Alfred University’s COVID-19 guidelines. Protocols may be adjusted in response to local and state guideline changes, so please check this website regularly for updates.
For those not attending in-person, Commencement will also be live streamed here and on the Alfred University YouTube Channel.
Running into any streaming issues? Try viewing the stream directly on YouTube:
Undergraduate students who have achieved academic excellence at the University wear a gold cord at graduation, indicating graduation cum laude, with praise, magna cum laude, with great praise, or summa cum laude, with highest praise. Degrees conferred with distinction reflect an outstanding overall grade point average with a minimum of sixty semester credit hours earned at Alfred University; a minimum of fifty computed in the grade point average.
Tickets will be required for admittance. All eligible graduating students will be issued four (4) tickets for attendance to the Commencement Ceremony. This policy is to help establish a safe and secure venue in compliance with NYS fire and safety codes. We will be streaming commencement live via our webpage for those who are unable to attend in person. As well, we will be showing it via live stream for un-ticketed guests who are on campus. Please direct ticket questions to the University Bookstore.
