The Program

Come and experience hands on metal-work, casting, and forging. Learn metallurgy, material science, and ceramic engineering fundamentals doing applied research with our world renowned students, staff, and faculty. In addition to forging and foundry work, programming will include student panels, guest talks from industry experts, and two field trips. This program is co-hosted by Alfred University's School of Engineering and School of Art & Design.

Program Cost: $1,000

Program Deposit: $100

This pricing includes tuition, materials, meals, and housing. All housing and meals will take place here on Alfred University’s campus.

Discounts

We are pleased to offer a $100 discount off tuition for students whose primary residence is within a fifty-mile radius of Alfred, New York, as well as for children of Alfred University Alumni and returning students from any Pre-College Program at Alfred University. Scholarship

Due to the generous support of a donor we can award multiple scholarships for Forge the Future, relative to students’ financial needs. To apply for this scholarship, please write a one-page essay detailing your financial situation and send it to Isaac Matson, the Pre-College Programs Coordinator.
