Terel Marshburn '15, MBA '18

Economic Development Director, Otsego Now

Terel Marshburn is the Economic Development Director at Otsego Now in Oneonta, New York.

Previously, he served as the Chemung County Program Manager for IncubatorWorks in Elmira, where he supported small, local businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them learn how to thrive in the business and entrepreneurship world. In that role, Terel also managed the Elmira Makerspace and taught the business plan class, a part of their two Co. Starters courses offered. He has been actively involved with Collegiate Pitch Competitions such as AHA! and 607 Soaring. Before joining IncubatorWorks, he was the Director of Downtown Operations and Placemaking at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

During his time at Alfred University, he was a Track and Field athlete and Athletic department, facilities, and events extraordinaire. Outside of work he enjoys youth mentorship (middle school to college students), sports and DIY projects. Terel is an avid gamer and is the proud dad of his 9-year-old son. 

Terel earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2015 and an MBA in 2018, both from Alfred University.
