Assistant Director, Career Development Center, Alfred University

Hannah (Ulmen) Miles is a two-time Alfred University graduate with a BFA concentrated on graphic design (’22) and an MBA focused on business sustainability (’23). She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Career Development Center, where she helps students and alumni feel more prepared to navigate their career paths while preparing them to be confident about their next move.

Before stepping into higher education, Hannah worked as a Senior Product Specialist, managing international vendor relationships and designing seasonal product lines with collaborative teams to bring creative concepts to life. The role combined creativity, business strategy, and communication skills that she now brings into her work supporting students.

At Alfred University, Hannah meets 1:1 with students to provide support with everything from resumes and interviews to big-picture plans. She manages active resources and multiple processes including the internship-for-credit program and the APEX experiential learning grant, both of which help students gain valuable real-world experience. In addition, Hannah works with faculty to integrate career preparation visits into the classroom, ensuring that students engage with professional development early and often. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys painting, snowboarding, fishing, and traveling.
