Excellent Background

Economics will provide you with an excellent background for work in the fields of banking, finance, and other areas where an understanding of economics is required. It is appropriate for entry into a variety of civil service positions with the federal, state and local government or entry into graduate school.

The minor in economics includes 16 credit hours of coursework:

  • ECON 201: Principles of Microeconomics
  • ECON 202: Principles of Macroeconomics
  • ECON 460: Seminar in Economics
  • ECON 300+ Upper-level Economics Course
  • ECON 300+ Upper-level Economics Course
At least half of your coursework for the minors in our College of Business must be completed at Alfred University. A grade point average of a "C" (2.0) or better must be attained in courses submitted for completion of the minor.
