Graduate Assistant reports to the Director of Student Activities

Description

The Center for Student Involvement is seeking candidates for a graduate assistantship to provide weekend night supervision to the Powell Campus Center, the hub of campus life at Alfred University. The graduate student would supervise and/or support student managers, staff and volunteers who are presenting numerous events in both the Nevins Theater and our Knight Club (Bands, comedians, novelty acts). Alfred seeks candidates with experience in event-planning, student organization leadership, and crisis management skills.

Qualifications

All graduate majors may apply. The position is best suited for outgoing personalities who could make students feel welcome in the facility while also providing a professional presence for handling problem-solving situations and interacting with visiting performers. Candidates should display and affinity for working with diverse populations and a history of problem solving.

  • Stipend of $3000 per year
